This piece was soda-fired! A mixture of soda ash (kind of like baking soda) was sprayed in the kiln 3-4 times as it approached it's top temperature. This creates a subtle sheen on the unglazed outside surface.
This piece is food-safe and water tight, in addition to being microwave and dishwasher safe.
